Stig Blomqvist has agreed to action-art producing a commissioned painting of himself in the legendary Group B Audi Quattro WRC. This is the 2nd in the series of paintings entiled, 'The Group B Series'. Work on this artwork is commencing straight away and an anticipated completion date at this stage is early 2012. A number of the finished prints will be signed by Stig.
With 2012 being the 50th year celebration of Mini winning the Monte Carlo rally how fitting that action-art has received a commission from Paddy Hopkirk to produce a painting of himself and Ron Crellin competing in the legendary original Mini Cooper. Work on this painting commences in January 2012 and as always numbers will be strictly limited . Orders are already being placed so if you are a MIni fan do not miss out on this one. It is anticipated that some of the prints will be signed by Paddy and Ron.
The Mini Cooper is a name synonymous with rallying and Mini's efforts restamp its mark on the world rally championship has to be one of the most exciting developments in world class motor sport for decades. Sharing that excitement, action-art is delighted to have received a commission to produce a painting of Kris Meeke competing in the new car. The future looks bright for the Mini WRC and given the commission with Paddy Hopkirk this painting will hopefully feature the new car competing at Monte Carlo in 2012. Ken Block is a name instantly associated with high octane action and the Gymkhana stunt driving films remain a massive success the world over. Although an accomplished stunt driver Ken has in recent years forged a reputation on the world rally stage and action-art were delighted to receive permission to produce a painting of Ken in action in the 2011 Fiesta WRC. action-art are trying to finalise the details of this artwork and further details will be released as soon as possible.
